The Model

1. Form a core team of high-school students, community members, and city (I.E. stormwater & surveying) & local experts

2. Partner with a landscape architect and permaculture expert with hügelkultur experience

3. Design solutions for specific problem areas (flooding, blight, poor soil, etc.)

4. Use free materials (tree trimmings, yard waste, cardboard, food scraps)

5. Build the projects together

6. Train participants so they can co-lead the next project, lead independently from there, with opportunities to lead teams in neighboring communities, nationwide, or abroad
